Massillon Lattice Bowstring

This rare iron bowstring bridge is just north of Dillonvale in Jefferson County. Remarkably it is still in service on Township Highway 125 but may have been moved here long ago from another location. The design of the lattice arch indicates it was built in the 19 century by the Massillon Bridge Company. Modifications to the deck supports have been made but the arch appears original. It's posted for 10 tons but has been rated "intolerable" by the CE and I fear for its future. The Laymon Road Bridge exhibited in Clinton County is a similar example by this builder.
